Tractor Debris Stops
About
Terry Ahlbrecht is a crop farmer in Hector, MN that has been farming for over 40 years. Over the years Terry has farmed corn, soybeans, sweet corn, peas and sugar beets with a variety of different equipment. Cleaning and maintenance have always been a priority to ensure a longer lifetime for his equipment.
During the 2018 fall harvest, Terry was fed up with the amount of debris that was accumulating under the hood of the tractor as it required daily maintenance due to his concern of fire risk from an overheated engine. Beyond the daily clean up, it took two men 3 hours to clean the corn stalks and debris from under the hood at the end of the season. This got Terry thinking and led him to research tractor engine fires due to excess debris.
Terry’s first-hand experience with engine debris clean-up, along with the articles that he read on the subject led him to engineering a way to eliminate this problem. After multiple iterations, Debris Stop was designed and is now available nationwide to get farmers working smarter.
